Leadership and Personal Growth

Hello Ladies,

To put it bluntly ladies, leadership exposes you; it does not hide you. It will reveal your fears and insecurities. In order to be a good leader, you must focus on your own personal growth as an individual. The bible offers great advice on how to do this. Let's look at the apostle Paul's prayer for spiritual growth.

“Then Christ will make His home in your hearts as you trust in Him. Your roots will grow down into God's love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, and how deep His love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully...” (Eph 3:17-19 NLT).

It was not a mistake that Paul chose love as a key to spiritual growth. Was he on some happy, loved-up juice that day? No. Love is a total BOSS word; a powerful and fearless word. Perfect love casts out all fear... jealousy, comparison, hate, insecurity and the list goes on.

An example of the importance of personal growth being vital in leadership can be found when looking at a CEO’s performance. If they are insecure or fearful, it will translate in their company’s financials. This is why executive coaches mandate coaching sessions focusing solely on their personal growth. The coach is implicitly aware that personal effectiveness will drive a company’s performance.

It is so important ladies that you focus on personal growth if you want to be your best.

Below is a love letter that I wrote to help me overcome fears and insecurities. This caused me to become a much better leader.

Hello Baby Girl,
The day you were born I was so excited, finally the day had arrived.
I’ve thought about you since the beginning of time and have carefully created you as my beautiful masterpiece. I love you so much. I think about you all the time, more than the sand on the seashore.
I called you by name sweetheart. I picked you, you didn't pick me.
If you could only see my plans for you, you would flip. Baby Girl, if you would see yourself the way I see you, you would be overflowing with joy, peace and contentment.
All my love,

I encourage you to write your own and these are the scripture that I used for mine:

Pslm 139:14, Eph 2:10, Pslm 138:18, Isa 43:1, John 15:16, Jer 29:11 and Eph 3:20.
